Mobile Digital Pipeline

  • Ebsco Mobile Site
    The mobile site is recommended for accessing Ebsco sites like Academic Search Premier, but there are also apps available for Android and iOS. Begin the authentication process by clicking on the link at the bottom of an Ebsco database. Contact your librarian with questions.

Mobile Sites (Alaska-related)

  • Alaska 511
    Find the current status of roads and highways around Alaska, especially how they may be affected by weather or repairs. Includes weather cams. From the Alaska Dept. of Transportation and Public Facilities.
  • Aviation Camera Program (Weather Cams)
    Access weather cams around Alaska, from the Federal Aviation Administration.

    "15 high school students and 7 adult advisors from four school districts gathered in Anchorage to participate in the QBook Slam project. Students were tasked with creating an entire 20 page illustrated book in just 48 hours. With an overall theme of “We Are Alaska”, each district team worked collaboratively to create a storyline representative of their communities through telling a local story or myth." Great for kids and adults.

    A fun and easy way to learn a language, be sure to choose the app that specifies that it's for libraries. Mango also has a personal app, but you may need to pay for that content.
  • Teen Health and Wellness (Hotlines)  Icon
    From website, "Teen Hotlines lists hotlines, help lines, and web sites organized by subject. From school violence and depression to eating disorders and suicide, these national organizations can also refer teens to state, local, and provincial services in their community.

    Users can also store a username and password allowing them to access Teen Health & Wellness with just one click."

    In addition to booking a flight, you can also track flights, create alerts, access mileage plan information, and more. These are also available through the Alaska Airlines mobile site.
  • Driver's Education for Alaska  Icon  Icon
    This is a handy way to practice for your driving test. The app is free, but there are ads for additional products or services. The app includes a link to the official State of Alaska Driver Manual from the Division of Motor Vehicles, but the app does not appear to be affiliated with any State of Alaska agency.
  • Bathroom Alaska  Icon
    This homegrown app is far from comprehensive, but it's fun and may be helpful.
