From April 15, 2017 through June 14, 2017, the Alaska State Library is hosting Dash for the Stash, a program designed to help people learn more about investing. Dash for the Stash is a contest sponsored by the Alaska Department of Commerce, Community, amd Economic Development in cooperation with the Investor Protection Institute. To enter the contest, people read educational posters at the library, then answer questions about investing using their mobile devices or a computer in the library.
Why play? You can learn more about investing and investor fraud. Plus, you may qualify for the prize, a $1,000 contribution to an IRA.
To learn more, find the rules and contest posters near the entrance to the library, which will be displayed beginning April 15, 2017.
David Newman and Leif Haugen, examiners with the Alaska Division of Banking and Securities, will share basic information to get you started with investing. The DASH for the STASH posters will be on view at the presentation so eligible attendees can enter to win a $1,000 contribution to an IRA.
