The Sheldon Jackson Museum has rescheduled it’s originally scheduled poetry reading to honor Alaska Native and Indigenous People’s Month. The event was originally scheduled for Nov. 4th and has been postponed to Nov. 18th.

Join us at the museum Saturday, Nov. 18th between 9 and 10am for an Alaska Native Poetry Reading and coffee and pastries. Award winning Alaska State Laureate Ernestine Hayes, author of Blonde Indian, and local and Southeast Alaska Native writers will share their own poems or read some of their favorite Alaska Native-authored poems. Refreshments will be served. This event is in partnership with the Island Institute and is part of the Wild Language Festival from November 16-19th. Admission will be waived.
