What I Do
- Manages the library grant programs of the State Library, including the public library assistance, interlibrary cooperation and continuing education/professional development grants
- Consults with librarians on funding sources and grant writing
- Serves as State Data Coordinator for Alaska’s public library statistics by managing the grant report system, reviewing and submitting Alaska statistics to the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS)
- Provides training to librarians on who to use their public library statistics for planning and marketing
- Compiles and submits the State Library’s statistics to IMLS
- Supports colleagues on Library Development team with their grant-funded project needs
- Provides reference assistance to patrons of the Alaska State Library

Alaska's public libraries file an annual report each year with the Alaska State Library in order to remain eligible for the annual public library assistance grant. Excel or CSV files of the annual statistics going back to 1987 are available online.
