What I Do
- Director of the Alaska Division of Libraries, Archives, and Museums:
- As State Librarian, oversee three units that comprise the State Library: Information Services, Historical Collections, Library Development
- Oversee State Archives and State Museums
- Manage planning, budget, and administrative operations of the Division
- Represent concerns of Alaska’s libraries, archives, and museums within State Government, to the Alaska Legislature, and on the national level to Federal agencies and Alaska’s Congressional delegation
- Gather state and national information and opportunities of interest to share with Alaska’s libraries, archives, and museums
- Head of Library Development:
- Manage operations of the Library Development unit, which provides professional development, funding, and projects that help local libraries provide better services to their communities
- Coordinate DirLead, a training cohort of the directors of the 20 largest public libraries
- Represent the broadband needs of libraries, both infrastructure and funding, at the state and national level
