Alaska Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums Shifts to Summer Hours

Juneau and Sitka – The Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums – the Alaska State Libraries, State Archives and the Alaska State Museum in Juneau and the Sheldon Jackson Museum in Sitka – are expanding facilities open hours for Summer, effective mid-May.

To preserve the safety of our staff and visitors and minimize the spread of Covid-19, face coverings are expected to be worn by all visitors and staff. Please maintain social distancing of six feet between household groups, and for admission to the museums, please pay by credit card (not cash).

Open hours for State Libraries, Archives and Museum at the Fr. Andrew P. Kashevaroff (APK) building in Juneau:

Alaska State Museum
Summer Schedule, May 12–September 30
Wednesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission: Age 18 and under always admitted free. Summer admission at the State Museum is $14 with a $1 discount for seniors. An annual pass for unlimited admission at both museums can be purchased for $40.

Alaska State Library Reading Room
Summer schedule, May 10 and beyond
Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Research Center – Access to the Alaska State Library Historical Collection and the State Archives
Summer Schedule
Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. by appointment only

Sheldon Jackson Museum, Sitka
Summer schedule, May 12–September 30
Wednesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Admission: Age 18 and under always admitted free. Summer admission at the Sheldon Jackson Museum is $9 with a $1 discount for seniors. An annual pass for unlimited admission at both museums can be purchased for $40.

A person experiencing a disability who needs accommodation for events hosted by the Alaska State Library, Archives, and Museum can contact the Division’s ADA coordinator at (907) 465 2912 a week in advance to make any necessary arrangements.
