The Friends of Sheldon Jackson Museum will sponsor a free screening of the film Aleut Story on Saturday, December 7th at 3pm in the museum gallery. The focus of this documentary is on the incredible, untold story of Aleut (Unangax) Americans' decades-long struggle for human and civil rights in the face of their forced relocation during World War II. In the government camps nearly ten percent of captives perished. Despite these hardships, those who survived fought for their rights-in the nation's courts and on Capitol Hill.
During this film screening at the Sheldon Jackson Museum, admission fees will be waived. Winter admission fees are $5 for adults and $4 for seniors. Visitors 18 and under are admitted free of charge. Winter hours at the Sheldon Jackson Museum 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, Tuesday through Saturday except holidays. Assistance is available for visitors with special needs.
