The Sheldon Jackson Museum is pleased to announce that on Saturday, June 16th at 2:00pm, artist-in-residence, Chloe French (Tlingit) will give an artist talk entitled, Stories & Myth: Keeping Them Alive Today. The talk will focus on how the artist has been inspired by Tlingit legends and how she works her interpretations of stories and myths into her dance bibs, collars, and other artwork. The talk will be held in the museum gallery and is free to the public.
On Saturday, June 23rd from 1:30pm to 4:00pm French will teach a free dance bib making class using felt and other materials. The class will focus on how to communicate stories and myth through the creation of their own dance bibs. The class is free, but students should be the minimum age of ten and must register in advance and obtain materials beforehand. To register and for the required materials list, call (907) 747-8981.

Summer hours at the Sheldon Jackson Museum 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, Tuesday through Saturday. The museum is closed holidays. Summer admission is $7 for adults and $6 for seniors.
