The importance of subsistence activities cannot be stressed enough in Alaska. I grew up in a family that needed to harvest a moose or musk ox every fall to feed us through the winter. It was an activity we did together as a family. I often reflect upon these memories, so crucial to my understanding of my place in this world. These works are reminiscent of de-fleshed hide or maybe a garment, one cannot tell.
