To prevent or slow the spread of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), the Alaska State Library, Archives & Museum at the APK in Juneau and the Sheldon Jackson Museum in Sitka will be closed to the public through Tuesday, March 31. All evening programs and rental use are cancelled during this closure period.


Seward's Day (Monday, March 30) - Division staff will not be checking phones or e-mail on this holiday. Sheldon Jackson Museum staff will not be checking messages on the following Tuesday. Library & Archives distance services will resume on 3/31/2020.

Current Issue

3/13/2020 - The Sheldon Jackson Musueum remains open but has cancelled all remaining March events. As of this writing, the APK building in Juneau is open. They did not have public events scheduled for the second half of March. Stay tuned to our mailing list for updates about events in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic.
