Alaska State Libraries, Archives and Museum Reopening to Walk-in Visitors

Juneau – The Alaska State Libraries and State Archives will reopen to walk-in visitors on Tuesday, July 7. We recommend visitors continue to make reservations to make your time with us more efficient and effective but reservations are not required. Public hours will remain Tuesday through Friday from 12 PM to 4 PM weekly. The Alaska State Museum will reopen to walk-in visitors on Wednesday, July 8, 2020. Timed entry will no longer be necessary. Public hours will remain Wednesday through Saturday from 12 PM to 4 PM weekly.

Continued guidelines to ensure the safety of our staff and visitors:

  • Please bring a credit or debit card for museum admission; cash-less and receipt-less admissions are encouraged.
  • Face coverings for visitors and staff are strongly encouraged.
  • Please maintain social distancing of at least six feet between individuals and household groups.
  • Public programs and guided tours remain cancelled.
  • Anyone, visitor or staff, displaying symptoms of COVID-19 may not enter the building.
  • Handwashing may be done in the public restroom. Employees will wash their hands frequently and visitors are encouraged to do the same. Hand sanitizer will be provided when available.
  • High-touch surfaces will be sanitized throughout the day.

The Alaska State Libraries, Archives, and Museums are compliant with State mandates.

Museum admission:

  • General Adult - $7
  • Senior (65 & older) - $6
  • Youth (18 years & younger), Friends Members and Museum Pass holders – Free
