Alaska State Library, Archives and Museum Continued Temporary Closure, Tentative Plan to Reopen December 28

Juneau – The Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums located in the Father Andrew P. Kashevaroff building (APK) will remain closed to the public through December 26th. Staff will continue to serve the public by e-mail and phones. Depending on local COVID conditions, the division tentatively plans to reopen to the public on December 28, 2020 from noon – 4 p.m.

During the week of December 28 – 31, the Library and Archives will be open Monday through Thursday. The Research Center (the Archives and the Library’s Historical Collections) will be open by appointment only; please contact the State Archives at 907-465-2270 or archives@alaska.gov or the State Library–Historical Collections at 907-465-2925 or ASL.Historical@alaska.gov. The Museum will be open Tuesday through Saturday, December 29 – January 1. However, the facility and the entire division will be closed on Friday January 1st in observance of the New Year’s Day holiday.

Beginning the week of January 4, the Library and Archives (Archives by appointment only) will be open Tuesday through Friday from noon to 4 p.m. and the Museum will be open Wednesday through Saturday, noon – 4 p.m.
