Alaska State Museum Opens New Exhibit Featuring Big Artworks from the Largest State

Juneau – From large format photographs to towering canvases, the Alaska State Museum’s newest exhibition features artworks by renowned Alaskan artists with one thing in common: size. Simply Big is a collection of artwork made between 1970 and 2020 and includes works that have not been on exhibit before as well as recent acquisitions made possible by the by the Rasmuson Foundation. The exhibit includes works by artists:

A person experiencing a disability who needs accommodation for events hosted by the Alaska State Library, Archives, and Museum can contact the Division’s ADA coordinator at (907) 465 2912 a week in advance to make any necessary arrangements.

Summer hours, 12 p.m. noon to 4 p.m. For updated hours visit Summer admission is $7, with those age 18 and under admitted free.  An annual pass that allows unlimited visits to the Alaska State Museum and the Sheldon Jackson Museum in Sitka is available for $35.
