Alaska State Museum Opens New Exhibit Featuring Big Artworks from the Largest State

Simply Big 1970-2020: Large Artworks from the Alaska State Museum Collection

On exhibit July 15 through September 2020

Juneau – From large format photographs to towering canvases, the Alaska State Museum’s newest exhibition features artworks by renowned Alaskan artists with one thing in common: size. Simply Big is a collection of artwork made between 1970 and 2020 and includes works that have not been on exhibit before as well as recent acquisitions made possible by the by the Rasmuson Foundation. The exhibit includes works by artists:

Summer hours, 12 p.m. noon to 4 p.m. For updated hours visit museums.alaska.gov. Summer admission is $7, with those age 18 and under admitted free.  An annual pass that allows unlimited visits to the Alaska State Museum and the Sheldon Jackson Museum in Sitka is available for $35.
