Juneau – The Alaska State Museum begins summer hours on May 2.
Museum hours will be: Monday, 1:00-4:30 pm and Tuesday-Sunday, 9 am-4:30 pm.
Summer admission is $14, with a $1 discount for seniors. Admission is free for those 18 years and younger.
The State Museum hosts a spectacular permanent collection as well as temporary exhibitions. On display for the summer is the Mug Up exhibition, named after the cannery term for a coffee break. The displays share stories of Alaska’s cannery crews and showcase artifacts from the canned salmon industry.
