Juneau – The Alaska State Museum begins summer hours on May 2.

Museum hours will be: Monday, 1:00-4:30 pm and Tuesday-Sunday, 9 am-4:30 pm.

Summer admission is $14, with a $1 discount for seniors. Admission is free for those 18 years and younger.

The State Museum hosts a spectacular permanent collection as well as temporary exhibitions. On display for the summer is the Mug Up exhibition, named after the cannery term for a coffee break. The displays share stories of Alaska’s cannery crews and showcase artifacts from the canned salmon industry.

The museum phone number is (907) 465-2901. Visit museums.alaska.gov for more information.

Persons experiencing a disability who need accommodation for events hosted by the Alaska State Library, Archives, and Museum can contact the division’s ADA coordinator at (907) 465-2912. Please allow a week's notice so we can make any necessary arrangements.
