The Friends of Sheldon Jackson Museum and Sheldon Jackson Museum are pleased to announce the Spring Share Your Culture / Share Your Research Speaker Series lineup and the guest speaker for the Friends' May 3 annual meeting. All events are sponsored by the Friends of Sheldon Jackson Museum and include a combination of in-person and virtual events.
The spring speakers were selected from a pool of applicants who applied to share a 50-60 minute Zoom presentation. Presentations could include stories, dances, recipes or a cooking demonstration, or an artist demonstration; or a talk on one’s art form, culture, or research. Local applicants were invited to share their presentation on Zoom and simultaneously at the museum.
The Friends of Sheldon Jackson Museum are sponsoring four speakers as part of the Spring Share Your Culture / Share Your Research Series. Lou Logan (Inupiaq) was the first speaker. He gave a presentation on “Building the Inupiaq Qayaq” on Zoom and in-person to a standing-room only audience. Here are the upcoming speakers and their Zoom details:
