We’re committed to providing the valuable resources on SLED and the SLED Databases to all Alaskans. Using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1, Level AA as our guide, we strive to make our websites more accessible for everyone. Many of our resources are from third parties. While we don’t have direct control over their functionality, we’ll do our best to help with any accessibility issues.

Canceled Databases
Due to budget cuts, the following databases have not been renewed and are no longer available:
Please contact your local library for help accessing the content you need in different ways.
Upcoming Cancellation
Because of budget cuts and cost increases, BrainPOP, including BrainPOPJr, will only be renewed through SLED through June 30, 2025. Schools and districts that choose to continue access after this date can reach out to Sabrina Wuu at sabrina.wuu@brainpop.com for additional information.
We all love search engines, but sometimes the best quality websites are hard to find. We've collected outstanding resources on Alaskan topics.
If you get a page with "SLED Databases" at the top and an ask for username and password, read on!
If you're an Alaska resident with an Alaskan area code, call 1-800-440-2919 for a password. Note that this may not work if caller ID is disabled, as apparently the system can't tell that you're calling from Alaska. Otherwise, Alaska residents can fill out our form to receive a password.
Fill out the form completely so we can verify your Alaska residency. We must do this for our vendors.
Suggestions are welcome. We may not always be able to respond, but will do our best to respond to Alaska residents who provide an accurate email address, so please be careful filling out the form!
