PCA 488. Black and white and color aerial photographs depicting Alaskan coastal communities. The Department of Environmental Conservation kept these photographs for reference purposes. In the event of an oil spill or other type of accident, aerial photographs could provide an overview of geographic features of the particular area. Folders are arranged alphabetically by name of community or body of water; information is also provided on flight lines, with dates photos were taken.

This document provides aerial photos of the Alaska Marine Highway System ferry terminals.

PCA 0177. Contains photographs, aerial photographs, negatives and slides of housing and housing construction activities in various communities and villages, construction workers, and residents. Black and white as well as color images are included. Some of the homes and people are identified.

PCA 543. Village water and sewage system assessment, including permafrost conditions, sanitation assistance training, and village structures and village life and people, 1940s-1960s. Arial and close-up views of village layouts and surrounding landscapes, construction projects. Studies undertaken for the State of Alaska Health Department, Territorial Department of Health, United States Department of the Interior Office of Indian Affairs Field Service.

PCA-0528. Photographic prints of aerial views of photos taken for the U.S. Forest Service: Sumdum, Sitka, Taku River, and Juneau.

PCA-0338. A large number of aerial views show Aleutian Island landscapes and volcanoes.

The views in this collection primarily show damage from the 1964 Earthquake and general southwest Alaska community views. Aerial photographs of harbors, etc., are included.

PCA 252-1. n its various public land management responsibilities. Some of the aerial obliques came from the Federal Aviation Agency. The images include Alaskan villages and communities photographed from 1950-1973. Each page contains the latitude and longitude and population figures based on the 1960 census. Post-1964 earthquake photographs of Seward, Valdez and Whittier are included.

PCA-0545. The images in this collection were taken largely on and around Adak Island, Alaska, in 1944 and 1945. Over a third of the photographs are aerial views.

PCA-0492. The collection includes an album of 49 photographs relating to the 1929 U.S. Navy Alaska Aerial Survey Expedition, featuring aerial views of communities in Southeast Alaska.
