The Friends of Sheldon Jackson Museum invite the public to attend events in the Share Your Culture/Share Your Research Winter Public Program Series. There are four remaining public programs, including artist talks, a storytelling event, an earring making class, and Chilkat weaving demonstrations. All of the events will be available on Zoom. The next Winter Series event will be an earring making class with Jessica Towns (Alutiiq/Sugpiaq).
Join Towns and make a pair of beaded earrings based on an ancestral pair from Ugashik in the Smithsonian Museum’s collection.
Materials List Make earrings similar to those pictured above. (Students may make a slightly simpler version and will choose their own colors.)
The class is free, but students need the following materials to participate. Please acquire these from your local bead shop or online before the class:

The Sheldon Jackson Museum is open Tuesday-Saturday,10 am-4 pm and is closed holidays. Winter admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, and free for ages 18 and under and active duty military and their families (with an ID).
