Alaska State Library works with iREAD to provide a summer reading starter kit with a resource guide. This program is available to any library in the state looking to offer a reading program over the summer.

Evolve Summer Reading into Summer Learning

Summer reading has been a library staple since the turn of the 20th century. At its core, summer reading program is just a way to keep children connected to reading. Child plus library book equals SUMMER READING! There is no right or wrong way to promote summer reading, but here we are going to investigate some ideas to think about.
