This guide contains primary sources related to Russian involvement in Alaska, including the Russian colonial period between 1741 and 1867, the sale of Alaska to the United States, and the influence of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Alaska State Archives

The Alaska State Archives holds the records of the State of Alaska, including some territorial records. The territorial records contain some records related to the transfer of Alaska to the United States of America, following its purchase from Russia in 1867.
