April 20, 2020 Jimmy King, Learning Express Consultant and trainer extraordinaire introduced participants to the College Admission Test Prep offered in Learning Express Library available on SLED. SAT, ACT, AP exam test prep. College Admission Test Prep not only includes practice test but tutorials, eBooks, and other content to help students score higher on these high-stake tests. He will also covered tutorials that help students write their college entrance essays and other important college prep content.
April 16, 2020 Miguel Figueroa, Director for the Center for the Future of Libraries provided attendees with an opportunity to talk through how they are using futuring strategies in their workplace, any challenges they may have encountered, and thoughts for moving forward together. Attendees also spent some time talking about how the current public health crisis may have near- or long-term effects on our work Miguel Figueroa also shared the Center's coronavirus trend page which has information about some of the changes that may result from the COVID 19 public health crisis.

Even small libraries should have some kind of early literacy play space in their library. As children’s librarians, we offer storytime and other preschool programs to our patrons and are key partners with parents, caregivers, and teachers to help children become prepared for school and learn to read. During this webinar, participants learned about intentionality and how using storytime books, songs, and other literacy activities intentionally will support the early literacy components that children need to master to become successful readers.
One of the competencies of leadership is self-awareness and self-knowledge. Knowing the strengths you bring to your work allows you to leverage those skills for the benefit of your library. Being honest with yourself about any gaps that exist in your professional skills, then devising a plan to address those gaps is an important part of any personal professional development plan. During this webinar participants learned about the steps involved in developing a personal professional development plan.

LearningExpress Library features online tutorials, practice tests, and e-books to help patrons of all ages. During this webinar he focused on the Career Center with Occupational Test Prep and Work PlaceSoft Skills which employers are looking for in new hires. The Career Center has over 25 occupational certification test prep which include ALLIED HEALTH, NXCLEX for Nursing, PRAXIS for Teachers, Military ASVAB, and many more.
