Learning Outcomes

  • Identify resources and assistance available from FEMA, insurance, disaster vendors, and national resources.
  • Understand the importance of developing relationships with disaster vendors BEFORE an incident. They create preferred customer lists.

Module Introduction



  • Does your institution carry insurance for the building(s) and collection?  Discuss coverage with your agent.  Arrange for the agent to tour your facility.   Develop an information sheet for each insurance company.
  • Start to develop relationships with vendors.  Develop an information sheet for each as you choose which might be best for your institution.

To Complete your Plan

  • Draft a Title Page for your plan: Include the next full-plan review date:  January 2027.  The plan should be updated every year, but have a full review every 5 years; also include names of planning team members.
  • Draft an Introduction for your plan.
