The photographs from this collection were taken by the U.S. Army Forces Alaskan Department in the early 1940's and given to Warren H. Atherton in September 1946. This collection mainly consists of landscape, aerial, waterfront and harbor views from various regions of Alaska, including Anchorage and the Matanuska Valley; Fairbanks; Barrow; cities in Southeast Alaska.

Capps worked for the United States Geological Survey as a geologist. His photographic scrapbooks contain many aerial images of Alaska.

This collection consists of 51 aerial photographs of the Chitistone Pass area in Alaska, located in the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve. The photographs document geological features of the area. Some photographs have notes and annotations.

The Fairbanks Department of Engineering Photograph Collection consists of photographs of Fairbanks and vicinity from 1930s-1960s, many of the images are aerial views.

This collection contains a report on surveys made in various parts of Alaska in 1945 and 1946 by the Engineering Experiment Station of Purdue University in connection with an aerial photographic reconnaissance investigation of permafrost for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The second volume contains aerial photographs of various geologic features.

The eighty slides in this collection belonged to a helicopter pilot who was involved in rescue missions during 1967 Fairbanks Flood. The images depict flooded streets and buildings, Alaskaland (Pioneer Park), downtown Fairbanks, roads, and transportation.

This collection consists of aerial photographs of the University of Alaska campus in Fairbanks from approximately 1922, when it was known as the Alaska Agricultural College and School of Mines, through the present. It includes oversized aerial photographs taken in 1971 and in 1993 for the university's 75th anniversary.

Includes 29 aerial photographs of glaciers in southeastern Alaska, 4 aerial photographs of the Klawock region taken in 1970, and 2 unidentified aerial photographs. The aerial photographs of glaciers were made using the ERTS (Earth Resources Technology Satellite). Using multi-spectral imagery, these photographs show silt and other deposits from glaciers flowing into the surrounding waters.

The collection contains many 8x10 aerial photographic negatives of mountain terrain, taken primarily in Alaska in the years 1937-1976.
