In 2007, a focus group of Alaska Native staff from libraries, museums, archives, and cultural centers met at the Alaska State Library office in Anchorage. Through their efforts, a project to provide professional development and training opportunities was launched, and an Institute of Museum and Library Services grant was awarded to the Alaska State Library in 2010.
The Honoring Alaska Native Heritage project features presentations on topics of interest to Tribal Libraries and Tribal Librarians.
