Summer Reading Program: Summer Reading Timeline

Alaska State Library works with iREAD to provide a summer reading starter kit with a resource guide. This program is available to any library in the state looking to offer a reading program over the summer.

What happens when??

October: Summer Reading Sign-Up

https://library-alaska.libwizard.com/f/SRP_Registration (Not active until October)

December: Resource Guide & Credit Code

Libraries receive the URL to download the guide. Guides can be saved to a USB or can be purchased on a USB from the iREAD Store. Credit codes are sent in a separate email with instructions. Codes must be entered at the time of purchase and can be used only once, they do not carry a balance for future purchases. They can be used to pay for shipping.

January: SRP Workshop

A virtual get together to brainstorm programming ideas, usually based around the summer reading theme.

May: Troubleshoot

This just really depends on what is going on.

June: Summer Reading Program in action! Unless your program follows a different timeline...

August: Final Report

This is a federal requirement to fund the program. https://library-alaska.libwizard.com/f/SRP-Report (Not active until August).

September: Debrief

A virtual get together to discuss how the programs went, exchange ideas, and build community.
