How to Schedule a Meeting for Guest Host

  1.  Go to zoom.us and log in using your library’s zoom account.
  2. Click on “Meetings” and then “Schedule a Meeting”.
  3. Input the meeting Topic, Date, and Duration into the meeting form.
  4. Under Security, enable passcode but disable waiting room. (This is an example password and should be different for each meeting)
  5. Ensure that “Enable join before host” is turned on.
  6. Click on “Save” and it will take you to the summary page.
  7. From this page you will need to copy the Meeting ID and Passcode to share with your Guest Host.
  8. The last piece of information that you will need is your Host Key which you will get from your profile page, located near the bottom of the page.
  9. This is unique to your account and should only be shared with authorized individuals. Change this code after each meeting.

 

How to Start a Meeting as Guest Host

  1. Make sure you have Zoom downloaded and installed, then open the application.
  2. Click on Join Meeting (preferably not signed in).
  3. Input Meeting ID and your name (this is not the Host Key).
  4. When asked, input the passcode for the meeting.
  5. You should now be in the meeting.
  6. To claim host, click on the participants button at the bottom of the page.
  7. Click on claim host.
  8. Input Host Key received from the Library representative.
  9. You are now the host of the meeting and your meeting can begin.

NOTE: IF THIS MEETING IS RECORDED, THE RECORDING WILL GO TO THE ORIGINAL HOST. PLEASE CONTACT THE ORIGINAL HOST TO OBTAIN THIS RECORDING.
