Professional Development Resources for Public Librarians

This resource guide was designed to provide public librarians with access to continuing education and professional development resources.

How to register for an Infopeople Course Seat

The Alaska State Library has purchased a block of twenty (20) seats to Infopeople online instructor-led training sessions. These seats may be used by any Alaska library staff member during fiscal year 2025.  These seats will be distributed in an equitable manner to ensure that participants from libraries of all sizes, all types and in all regions of the State are represented.  Four seats will be reserved for each of Alaska’s five recognized regions: Far North, Interior, Southwest, Southcentral and Southeast.

10/2/2024--Current Infopeople seats aren't available yet, and the registration form is closed.  There will be an announcement when registration is available again.  Contact Kate with any questions.  To register for one of the reserved block seats, you will need to complete the online application form below.  Once your application has been approved, the Continuing Education Coordinator will register you for your Infopeople course. You will receive an email confirmation that you have been registered for your course.

A list of Infopeople training courses is available at https://infopeople.org/training

Important

Please note:  If you fail to complete your Infopeople course, you will be required to reimburse the full amount of the registration fees.  You are also required to complete an evaluation form for the Alaska State Library at the conclusion of your Infopeople course.  This evaluation is separate from the course evaluation submitted directly to Infopeople.
